DB InfraGO presented its timetable for repairing the bridge today:

The good news here is that a large number of measures of a technical and logistical nature that are necessary in connection with the repair are currently being implemented. The time-critical delivery of individual spare parts has now also been resolved.

The plan is for the repair work to be completed by the end of week 34 and for train services to be reopened.

Under the leadership of the Waterways and Shipping Administration, a working group will shortly be looking into possible additional safety measures for the bridge. A first replacement is already scheduled for 14.08.2024. 

At the same time, the additional protective measures planned and implemented after the first damage to the bridge will also be reviewed for effectiveness and possible adjustments.

The aim is to further increase the protective measures when the bridge is restored. Initial measures, such as bringing forward the reporting points combined with the mandatory introduction of a [double] reporting obligation for inland shipping and speed control, have already been introduced.

The transshipment alternatives for affected traffic have been launched via our terminal in Bremen, among others, and we are confident that we will continue to find the necessary alternatives for you.
