J. MÜLLER Aktiengesellschaft acquires shares in the SBS fast ferry Brake-Sandstedt from AG EMS
On 1 January of this year, J. MÜLLER Aktiengesellschaft, Brake, acquired the shares of AG EMS, Emden, in SBS-Schnellfähre Brake-Sandstedt GmbH & Co. KG as of 1 January this year. This means that Peter Schultze and J. MÜLLER Aktiengesellschaft will each hold a 50% stake in the ferry company in future. Operational management will remain in the hands of Peter Schultze, as has been successfully practised for many years.
‘Together with my dedicated team, I am delighted about the new co-partner. J. MÜLLER is not only our direct neighbour, but is also actively involved in the transport connections of the port of Brake and the entire region. This creates the best conditions for maintaining the ferry service in the long term,’ explains Peter Schultze, Managing Director of SBS-Schnellfähre Brake-Sandstedt.
Bernhard Brons, Managing Partner of AG EMS, adds: ‘We would like to thank Peter Schultze for 20 years of trusting and successful cooperation. It was particularly important to us to hand over our company shares into the hands of a strong regional partner. We wish him all the best for the future of the company.’
Jan Müller, CEO of J. MÜLLER AG, emphasises: ‘Our investment in the ferry company is an important step towards securing the future of operations between Brake and Sandstedt. This connection plays a key role in linking the port of Brake and the Wesermarsch region to the right bank of the Weser and the A27 motorway.’
AG EMS and Peter Schultze were the key founding partners who took over the ferry service from the district transport company VBW in 2005 and have maintained it without interruption ever since. The operation will continue seamlessly in the future.
