J. Müller Weser strengthens its sales and logistics team
The family-run business is making targeted investments in expanding its cargo-handling capacity at the seaport of Brake – including in modern cargo-handling technology and in strengthening the team.
Sven Riekers (51) is the latest addition to the J. Müller Weser team in Brake. A native of Bremen, he is moving to Brake from a company in the port sector in Bremen and will be joining the existing breakbulk sales team, where Jörg Kaplan has held a managerial position for many years.
In addition to his role in sales, Riekers, as Head of Logistics, will assume responsibility for, amongst other things, the strategic development of the agency and inland waterway chartering divisions. Furthermore, Sven Riekers has been appointed Managing Director of B-Log GmbH, a joint venture between the L.I.T. Group and J. Müller Weser GmbH & Co. KG.
Jan Müller, Chairman of the Board of J. Müller SE, welcomes the new appointment: “Despite the current economic challenges, we are convinced of the long-term potential of the breakbulk market and are systematically expanding our capacities at the Brake site. We intend to actively offer these expanded capabilities to the market. We are therefore delighted to have recruited Sven Riekers, a proven expert in the port and logistics sector, to our company, as he will strengthen our expertise in the long term.”
The Brake site offers further opportunities for development. Together with the port operator Niedersachsen Ports, J. Müller Weser is working to lay the foundations for further growth in the breakbulk business and to be able to respond flexibly to future market demands.
